Before breaking ground, a professional build should have:
- A clear scope and spec list
- A realistic schedule (with lead times for windows, doors, cabinets, etc.)
- A site logistics plan (access, staging, deliveries, neighbor protection)
- A plan for inspections and critical path items
- A decision calendar (so you choose finishes before they stall the schedule)
The biggest “silent delay” in custom homes is late selections. Cabinets, tile, and windows take time. Decide early.
