Lighting: Make the Space Useful After Sunset
Outdoor lighting should do three jobs:
1) Safety Paths, steps, and changes in elevation.
2) Ambience Warm, low-level glow that makes the yard feel welcoming.
3) Security Subtle perimeter lighting and smart controls.
Layer your lighting like you would indoors: overhead, accent, and path lighting—then put it on dimmers or scenes.
