Step 2: Define the lifestyle brief (your home’s “operating system”)

A new build should be designed around lifestyle, not rooms.
Ask:
- How do you want mornings to work?
- Do you entertain, and what does that look like?
- Do you need quiet work zones?
- Do you want multigenerational flexibility?
- How important is indoor-outdoor living, and what is the “outdoor room”?
- What’s your storage reality (sports gear, surfboards, bikes, kids, pets)?
This becomes the brief that guides the architect and the builder so the plan is aligned from day one.
