Step 9: Final walkthrough, punch list, and maintenance
A remodel isn’t “done” when the last worker leaves. It’s done when:
- The punch list is complete
- You understand how to operate and maintain new systems
- You have product documentation
- You have a plan to protect your investment (especially outdoors)
Ask your contractor for:
- Paint and finish details
- Product manuals and model numbers
- Care instructions for stone, wood, tile, and grout
- Maintenance recommendations for outdoor materials
